That's an anhinga.

Agreed, definitely an Anhinga. Neat shot.

I'd love to see an Anhinga. I'm going to Cancun, Mexico next March, do you think I could find one there. If so, please tell me the best place to go to find one, thanks.

Look for ponds and lagoons with large shrubs or trees around the edges. Also, try looking up occasionally -- I'm not sure about the dates for spring migration, but I do know Anhingas migrate in large flocks.

O.K... thanks.. when in Mexico i'll be staying in a resort for two weeks so i might go on birding exursions.

Come to south Florida, they are everywhere, all year round :-)
Those and double crested cormorants too :-)

Nice shot! One of the few birds for which I know the Latin species name - Anhinga anhinga

I see lots of double crested cormrants at my cottage in the summer.
