was eating lunch today when i spoted this one outside the window with it looked like a dove. terrible photo thru a screened window in the shade.Posted Image

And that's a Eurasian Collared Dove it's dining on ( Yay!,) showing the larger size associated with Cooper's.

Dang, you're good! Care to point out the field marks on the dearly departed? (Is that a collar mark on what might be the nape?)

the mourning doves have already taken off on their fall migration here. and the eurasian doves stay around all year. so by default i would say Eurasian dove

Fifth-ed. Looks just like the one we had a couple of nights ago, dining on a House Sparrow (yay for selective prey-selection, getting rid of invasive species).
