that kinda looks like a wilson's warbler

I believe the dark undertail would make this a Wilson's.

This is a bit of a rarer bird on the east coast than where I am in California right?

Yeah, I believe they stick around parts of the west coast all summer, while over here in PA we only see them during migration.

Here in Santa Cruz I see them all breeding season long, either singles or in pairs. Don't know if it is a migration thing but I have been seeing groups of like around five and six hanging out togethor lately

i think a wilsons should show a black cap

Wilson's Warbler. Adult males have the black cap. The dark underside to the tail helps to differentiate this from a Hooded.
