All shots were taken this morning at Fern Ridge Wildlife Area near Eugene, Oregon.

1. Yellow-crowned Sparrow (immature) - at least it wasn't another Song Sparrow EDIT: that should be Golden-crowned Sparrow

2a. Marsh Wren (in a tree?) - I was using flash and was wondering if it was affecting the color

2b. Marsh Wren (in a tree?) - could be a new species: the Rat Wren :). Seriously, I don't know what else this could be except a Marsh Wren.

3. European Starling

4. Pectoral Sandpiper (with injured wing) - the bill color causes some doubt, flash on this one too.

Thanks, everyone. You all are great. :)

1. Pale bill, fine streaking, yellow lores - this is a Savannah Sparrow.
2. Juvenile wren for sure, I'm inclined towards Marsh.
3. Yes, European Starling.
4. I think this is a Western Sandpiper. In addition to the black bill, the patterning is wrong, especially on the face.

Thanks again, Liam. Savannah Sparrow for #1 gives me a new species. If this keeps up you all may yet get me to keeping a life list. :)
