From two years ago, way before I was into birding, and at the time only had a very dinky camera with me. I totally am prepared for them to not be 100% IDable.

Taken September 2010, at Summit Lake on Mt. Evans in Colorado. Elevation 12,836 feet

American Dipper...? Even though they are always in creeks, I'd give it shot for a rough lake.

I think a Dipper has a very distinctive profile, this one doesn't seem to fit that. But what it is I couldn't tell.

I'm thinking these are American Pipit, based on GISS and habitat.

A dipper looks like a robin with a short little tail in profile, that's approximately what I see here.

Good idea. Another bird that is robin-like in profile. Could be that one too.

Agreed, a Dipper's tail is barely visible. Pipit seems a good possibility, but I'm certainly not willing to say for sure.

Ditto. Dippers' tails are really stubby.

Thanks for the guesses, guys! That would of been a lifer, but I'm definitely not counting it. Hopefully I'll get to go back in the next few years with my good camera in tow.

Good grief, I tried to upload a photo I took of an American Dipper, and I'm having zero luck. AND I'M A HIGH-TECH PROFESSIONAL!!! I suppose I'll have to research all the post instructions, this may take me a while. But this is NOT a Dipper...

The only thing I can say with 100% certainty is... this is NOT a Dipper. American Pipit is certainly a very good possiblity.. but no way to be sure.
