What is the sparrow like bird on the right? I don't seem to be able to find anything with that white eye ring. Perhaps I am focusing in on it too much. Taken Colorado Front Range.

Here is another one I'm not sure about. Taken same location.

Not sure on the second, but the first looks good for a Vesper

Yeah, Vesper looks pretty good. And it is in range. I wish the white stripe coming down from the beak on the side of the face was a little more prominent.

Agree with Vesper. Second bird is a Song.

Say's Phoebe and Vesper Sparrow in the first shot - that's a nice combo!

The second looks like a Savannah to me, the bill is pale, the tail fairly short, and the flanks unstreaked.

Vesper it is for the first. And thanks that is a lifer. Song would be a lifer but I got Savannah confirmed for another bird yesterday from the same outing.

Any additional input since there is a disagreement would be good. Thanks all!

I don't think there's enough there for me to comfortably call the second bird, but I agree that it looks too short-tailed for a Song. Given the apparent lack of an eye-ring, Savannah seems like a good fit.

I agree with Vesper for the first Sparrow. The second is not a Song. I am getting a Savannah feel on this guy too.

Do you have any other pictures at all of the bird in the second picture? Even crappy ones?

Raptor no I even went back and double checked. That is it that I'm sure it is the same bird.
