I had fun trying my hand at a few selective color pictures. Does anyone else play with these? If so post your pictures here! I am interested to see the different ways people have used this technique.

Out of the thousands of Whatbirders no one has any selective color pictures to share? Oh well, here are two more that I did.

Really, I don't use it much any more. There was a period a long time ago I did it a lot, though. I think it was around 2005/2006, and most of selective coloring shots I did were of my kids, and I don't necessarily want to spam the thread with pictures of them, lol.

Here, I do have one I'll share. Kind of embarrassed about it, but this WAS 6 years ago, and my skills have improved a bit since then.

Different people do it differently, but for me, I hit "Duplicate Layer", then greyscale, and then just choose the eraser tool and erase where I want the color to come back.

I used this hummingbird photo for a trial on a specific color. There was only one fleck of ruby showing in the throat so it made for a pretty simple test sample.
