And yet, more sparrows

I saw these three sparrows at Matchedash Bay,Ontario. I am not sure what the first one is. I think the second one is a Marsh Sparrow and am not sure what the third one is.

2 is a swamp, 3 could be a lincolns

2 is a swamp, 3 could be a lincolns


I agree. 1 looks like a Song based on bill size and long tail. It could be leucistic. There's something strange about that face.

Here is my take... I think #1 is a Song and #2 is possiblly a young White-throated Sparrow(juvie/changing to 1st winter possibly).

#3 I am really not sure...

I agree, 2 looks like a tan-striped White-throated Sparrow. Pass on the other two.

I still vote Swamp. The bill is too thin for White-throated and the nape is clean.

#1 is Song, #2 is Swamp (though with the back and wing pattern on this particular bird, I definitely see why White-throated was in the running), and I believe #3 is Song.

3 is a lincolns based, for me, bill shape and light streaking on the breast, if any

Finally back on ibird after four days of much homwork. Just wanted to say actually, I have seen a white throated sparrow here in toronto during spring migration.
