I saw a bird today that I'm hoping is a Marsh Wren. Pics aren't great but everyone knows how tough it is to get these little guys! Thanks for your help!!

I was also at a Refuge which was having it's annual Raptor program with owls, and hawks etc. The person holding the show said that if you find a feather for a raptor, look at it, take pictures of it but don't take it home because if a wildlife management officers finds it on you, you could be fined and or jailed. I don't think I've ever found a raptor feather but I didn't know this. It seems like a pretty tough regulation to catch the few poachers etc. of protected birds. What do you all think?

Yes, that is a Marsh Wren. The law about the feathers does seem a bit extreme, but I see where they're coming from with it. They want to prevent the killing of birds for their feathers. There have been problems with that in the past. Great and Snowy Egrets were almost wiped out by plume hunters.

That is a perfect example of a Marsh Wren! It shows its habitat perfectly (it's pretty exclusive to that) & the markings on the nape.
