Always wants to download database... Can't run

7 posts in this topic

I am unable to use iBird Pro when away from my WiFi network.

I have downloaded the entire database... however, every time I try to run iBird it wants to DL the database again... Sometimes, I may have 3G access, but of course it insists on WiFi, and thus won't run.

When I am connected to my WiFi, it will download the database, and everything is great... until next time I'm away, and again it insists on WiFi to DL the database again.

I have tried removing the application and reinstalling. I thought that would do the trick. No luck.

I'm on a DroidX (original), running Gingerbread. Stock.

I have a similar problem. The database download never finishes and I cannot open my app without it.

Thanks for the report, we are aware of the issue and are working on the solution.

This is almost the exact comment from other users. The fix is in progress.

Our newest beta has a new installer which uses the Google servers for storing the database and is more reliable. Also allows cellular or WiFi for downloadiong. If any of you wish to try please send an email to support at ibird dot com with the words "iBird Beta Tester for Android" in the subject field.
