I haven't really gotten into these guys at all, and looking back through my Florida pictures, I got a lot of bird shots, even though I wasn't a birder at the time.

Atlantic side of Florida (Ponce Inlet, if anyone wants to know exactly where), early April 2010.

And just verifying this is a ruddy turnstone.

As far as I know (which isn't very far) you've got a bunch of Sanderlings there. And I can confirm the Turnstone :D

Cool beans. I'm not counting them for my life list or anything, but I'm one that likes to go through my old stuff and know what birds are in them. Then hopefully next time I see those same birds, I'll know what they are and I can call them a lifer!

Why not count them? I counted a Common Poorwill I saw in June of last year and did not ID until July of this year when I happened to look at the illustration in the new Nat Geo field guide. Also, there are two species that I've only seen once, before I started birding, that I count.

You saw the birds, you took pictures of them, why not count them? I hope there's not a Statute of Limitations on counting birds. I counted birds a few months ago that I took pictures of in 1973. Of course this is all just my opinion.
After all, it is your list, you are the only one who can decide what you want to put on it. Mac.
Newest lifers: Black-crowned Night Heron, 228.

I only count a bird for my life list if I see it and KNOW what it is at the time, or at least am fairly certain.
