Anyone know the normal breeding season for American Robins? I've just seen two new babies in my yard. While the temperatures are still unseasonably hot for southern Indiana, I thought breeding would be done by now.

Their breeding season starts in spring/early summer like most other species but can be a bit longer. A lot of suburban and non-migratory species will have multiple clutches per year, especially if the weather and food availability are good. I would guess its the second (maybe even third!) clutch this year. American Goldfinches commonly have multiple, too.

Our Robins had a couple of broods in late Spring & early summer and then left the scene (maybe up in higher elevations). They are just trickling back now.
