All pictures taken in Kodiak, Alaska:

1. Ducks

2. Grebes of sorts?

3. The duck leading the pack of Emperor Geese (always seemed to sneak in a duck). Might be just a mallard.

4. Not sure if these are the same as 1:

1. Goldeneye hens, not sure how to differentiate juvies.
2. Horned Grebes
3. Looks like a Mallard
4. American Wigeon (Eurasian seems to be out of range)
5. Tough call, I'd agree that Murre is most likely
6. Puffy Pine Siskin confirmed
7. Awwwww. ^_^

3. The duck appears to be a Northern Pintail
5. Looks like a Horned Puffin to me
I agree with Liam on the others.

I saw one horned puffin and the guy I have here looked more like a small penguin to me. Didn't have the big puffin beak. More pointed.

Here's the puffin (much, much worse shot than the other black and white one, but very different in shape)

#5 is a Horned Puffin, most likely a juvenile. The white face and swollen, colorful bill are breeding season acoutrements.

Three Two more oh so awesome shots of the puffin (accidentally pasted the same one I posted). Is there a picture online that looks like this guy, I took a look but all look very 'puffiny', even the juvies have the puffier beaks:

And even more awesome than the puffin....and a really long shot, only one I got...what would that be in the background?:

And did anybody want to take a second shot of these guys I posted before. This is the best of the three I took:

Here's a shot I found online: http://www.aquariumo...fws-430x316.jpg
It doesn't appear quite like yours due to the distance, but the plumage is similar.
These additional photos make it look a lot more convincingly like a puffin.

The background bird could be an Ancient Murrelet.

And I thought we agreed on Horned Grebe for those three? :P

I think the background bird is a Marbled Murrelet -- Ancient was my first thought, but it looks like there's white just above the wing, which is a mark for Marbled and Kittlitz's.

Looking at pictures it does look more like the Marbled Murrelet, even that far away. Don't they know they need to come in close for a good picture? :P

Guess they shall just be Daffy, Donald and Darkwing. :D
