I have tossed these around for a few days now and I'm still not sure what the heck I have. There will be several so if you view this and there is only one comeback there will be more. ( I have not figured out how to do multiple posts from imgur yet) Taken 9-14 and 15 Jackson Lake in Eastern Colorado.

All of a sudden I'm having trouble getting the photos to post. Arrgghhh!

Some are there cool!

On the second one I have been bouncing from Mountain to Semipalmated Plover. Either would be a lifer. I'm just not sure what I have.

I know the killdeer but not the other two birds in photo 4.

Sorry about the repeat post on 5 and 6 that is when I started having trouble.

Thanks for your input!

The second pic is a Killdeer. The long tail for one thing.

Mountain Plover would not be hanging out at the beach and Semi would have bright orangish legs.

illin- the bird in the second photo is definitely not a Killdeer. My husband and I got close enough to this bird to tell that it was not a Killdeer. And I had heard that Mountain Plover had been reported in the area. The Lake we were at has dried up a lot which created a beach.

The face on number two makes me think Semipalmated Plover but the beak does not look quite long enough. But it is a Plover.

Thanks on the yellowlegs that is where I was leaning but there are so many and the differences can be so subtle. I think I have both lesser and greater.

I agree with illin's IDs. I see Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs and a Killdeer (or 2).

There were a ton of Killdeer there don't get me wrong on that. Just not that little guy in two. I have another shot of him I will see if I can get it up.

The one on the left is the Plover the one on the right is a killdeer.

Both those birds are Killdeer. Which are plovers by the way.

So you now agree that the bird in pic 2 is a Killdeer? Because it looks exactly like, and I have a feeling it is, the bird on the left in your last picture.

No I agree Killdeer are plovers. You can not tell it from the photo but the plover in question was smaller than the killdeer and it did not have the right neck wear :)

Killdeer have a distinct two black "necklaces," one thick, one thin. Other Plovers would only have one. :D

Good timber does not grow with ease:

The stronger wind, the stronger trees.

The further sky, the greater length,

The more the storm, the more their strength.

I can even see the red eye on the left bird, another mark for Killdeer.
