This is a followup on an old post:

These homing pigeons are regulars now flying over my house. They are very beautiful to watch. I wonder who is training them in my neighborhood?

if they fly around often it usually is just the owner turning them out to get their regular exersize. when they start training they take them away to start with a short distance and time them coming back and each time take them further away. thay keep records on return times and distance ect. And if they are going to be raceing pigeons the best ones for raceing but also for breeding stock and often thin out the flock by selling the slow ones or giving tham away or selling them to resturants for squab.

look for a place with a attic or loft or a tall barn with portholes up high for them to fly into. it keeps them safer from predaters such as feral cats or coyotes or even racoons or squirrels. they are usually kept in pens or cages high off the ground in the attic or loft.
