gotta be right? I have never seen one out in the open, this was eating the berries on this tree... when I was taking the pics I assumed it was a gray cheeked thrush which usually show up there to eat them

Yup! A lot of birds will change from an insectivorous diet to berries in the winter.

thanks, I wish he chose the branch above which had sun in it still... there were two of them but the other was mostly hidden behind the trunk of the tree

Very nice shot nonetheless!

Brown thrashers nested somewhere on my property this year, and for a couple of weeks I was catching glimpses of the fledglings/very young juvies all over. A couple of times I observed them in the honeysuckles eating berries. Was really a thrill to see so much of them as they're normally extremely wary around here.
