Well, apparently I found my first ever rare eBird sightings! I don't think think these are too terrible uncommon... perhaps a little less likely at the end of September.

I'd like some feedback just to make sure I don't submit false data and ruin science and destroy birding as we know it.

These were bathing in the stream along with some White-throated Sparrows... love when they sit there for your enjoyment.

1. Veery (uniform light brown color, slight eye ring, lacks a lot of spotting on the breast. And yes I may have had Parkinson's disease when I took this shot)

2. Wood Thrush (pretty obvious)

If e-bird lists Veery as rare in September, I think they have a coverage problem!

Around here, there's not a ton of eBird activity. That's fine because it's only encouraged me more to submit my findings!

Thanks guys. Now we can show those eBird admins who's boss.

I see you liked my post, jlk. Do you use eBird, or do you have something to confess? ;) The Grand Rapids area could use all the sightings it could get.

Congrats, GreatHorn!

I'm down between Kalamazoo & Battle Creek, and recently added an Olive-sided Flycatcher, the first local area sighting on eBird. (They held it back till they could look at my pics & confirm it.) So I got to wondering about eBirding activity around here, too.

I also wonder how many Michigan birders here also subscribe to Mich-chat? http://lists.envirol...tinfo/mich-chat
