yesterday When I was out in the bog, I heard a call that sounded like a witches laugh... hard to explain I guess like... eeehhh eh eh eh eh over and over,, it was really close and I looked over an there was a blue headed vireo in the exact spot it was coming from.. however I just listened to them online and it didnt make anything like it unless it has a call other than its song.. I should have recorded it.. there were several brown thrashers around that I dont see often?.. it was not a blue jay for sure
bird call

Sounds kind of like a pileated woodpecker - they sound like monkeys in the jungle.

no it wasnt a pileated, I hear and see them all the time.. I wish I had recorded it but after seeing the vireo I assumed it was him.. I never heard anything like this... what ever it was it was a small bird because I was looking right into the bush it was coming from and all I saw was the vireo

Did you try http://www.xeno-canto.org/ ? They usually have a good variety of songs/calls for every species and might have a Blue-headed vocalization similar to what you heard.
