This one stumps me

identify yellow brown bird

First off, I am a bird enthusiast, but not by any means an expert. I am a casual backyard watcher, with a few reference guides to assist.

In my area of Eastern Nebraska, I have never seen this bird. I found it after it flew into a window. I looked through as many picture guides that I could find, with no luck. My guess is that is was just migrating through, (found in mid September) but not sure.

Someone please help me identify this bird!

It's a type of warbler, a male Common Yellowthroat. Poor guy :(

That's a common yellowthroat. They live in your area in the summer. They tend to live in brushy areas near streams and damp areas. They can be hard to see even where they are common.
