Garden County NE (panhandle)
Sept 2012

Taken at sunset. Uncertain of true colors. I thought I saw orangish-yellow. (but everything looks reddish/oranngish/yellow at sunset) Breast had light streaks. Photo cropped, but unedited.

Wow. Thanks. Glad I did not venture a guess.

I never even thought of Warbler for this one. It was at the very top of the tree, swooped out, caught bugs on the fly, and returned to the same top bare branch. Before I got close enough to actually see colors, patterns, etc, I was thinking it was acting just like an Eastern Kingbird, and my first thought was that they had already all moved on for the winter.

The more you watch birds, the more you'll realize that Flycatchers aren't the only birds that fly-catch :)

That type of behavior is very typical of Yellow-rumps. I saw a flock of them yesterday fly-catching on a swarm of emerging termites.

Third. I saw a flock of these this past weekend as well in Michigan. You can barely see the yellow side spot in this picture where the wing bars meet the breast, but it is visible.
