Hello,

While walking through our local Forest Park where we see plenty of mallards, geese, etc, I spotted this lone, very small duck in the pond.
I had never seen it before and so I took lots of photos and then went home to do my research. It looks to me like a Ruddy Duck, male/winter, but I'm not entirely sure. It was a diver for sure. I was able to watch it preen and got several shots as such as well as the type I am submitting. I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks, Steve Shelasky aka/shelshots
