The Wrong Gull
Posted 19 October 2012 - 12:42 AM
I went after a Franklin's Gull that was reported swimming around South Baltimore yesterday. I am confident I failed to find it despite my best efforts to turn every Laughing Gull and a few immature Herring and Ring-billed Gull into a Franklin's. That being said, what are these? I am sure they are either LAGU, HERG, or RBGU but as to which one I am a bit perplexed.
#1 PS. Do gulls chase bugs?
#3 No ID needed, but this poor gull looks broken...
Thank you very much!

And yes, Ring-bills will chase bugs when there's a good hatch -- we see them going after flying ant swarms sometimes.
