Western Wood Pewee?

I'll definitely agree with Pewee -- I'll assume you know the local birds well enough to know which one you've likely got.
Wish that was true; I've never seen a pewee in Texas before and that was my first trip to the park. Ebird shows both eastern and western have been reported at the park and in the general area. Western seems more common and is the only one previously reported during September.
My field guide seems to indicate voice and range are the best way to distinguish them. But it also shows the park out of range for both birds and I never heard this one vocalize.

Given the difficulties in ID'ing these guys, I'd be a bit hesitant about using e-bird reports to determine likelihood -- you're limited by the ID abilities of the people who submit. I realize there's a vetting process for rarer birds, but I don't have a good feel for how they handle situations like this.
