Tsk tsk, I hope Bigfoot can move this to the contest forum.

You people have way too nice of yards. If I tried this november I would see no more than 15 species so I'll save myself from the embarrassment. I can't wait to follow your progress Shov!

I might have to enter to humor everybody :D

Too bad this contest wasn't in April... could have done a joke 'who saw the least species in their backyard' contest.

Starting a NEW gallery of my better bird shots. Not happy with Flickrs over-busy re-design.

BF said any and all birds seen from your yard.

My list is up to 66 with 2 rarities. Plus snow geese, which I don't think are but Ebird does. All those birds were seen in a little less the two monthes, and only one (that I can think of) migrates!

ABA list: 295 Latest: Swamp Sparrow
2013: 220

Yard List: 85 Latest: Violet-green Swallow, Tricolored Blackbird

I may live in San Diego County, buy my home and heart will always be in Missouri.

i won't be in on this years count. Due to weather beyond my control i have only added 2 new species this year and am stuck at 68 from for in or over my yard. most of the flyovers are waterfowl and raptors We had a open winter with little snow and lots of bone chilling cold and late frosts this spring killing off the berry and fruits and acorns. then it turned hot and dry and everything left burned up or died off and dozens of wildfires and forest fires all around us. and this fall no snow yet here and only a few snows in the mountains.but hard freezes at night and windy days.
Have had the usual year around birds and the spring migrants but just in limited numbers compared to the normal year. The fall and winter birds are showing up in small numbers but not consistant numbers.
About the only large flocks have been Pine Siskins and House Finches.
