Okay here is a picture I took yesterday, is the bird on the left a Blue-winged Teal? Watching it fly by it looked like a Blue-winged but something looks off in the picture.

You've got a pair of Wood Ducks -- you can see the face pattern in both birds.

really? bummer.

I thought that was what the right bird was but the left one just didn't look like a wood duck,

I agree with Wood Ducks. It's a bummer seeing them when you want them to be something else. :P
