Anhinga?

When I first saw it I thought it was a cormorant, but I guess the dagger-like beak makes it an Anhinga.

Right on, a juvenile Anhinga. You can seperate them from Double-crested Cormorant by the unhooked bill, lack of yellow extending onto the face and throat, and the very contained brown on the breast.

I've only seen these amazing birds a few times, wich I could see them more!

A trip to the everglades and you can see them at every step :)

Anhingas are very interesting birds.... they look almost prehistoric. They have webbed feet, yet perch in trees most of the time. They swim underwater and spear fish with their sharp pointed beak. Sometimes they swim with their body submerged and head and neck above water like a periscope, earning them the colloquial name of Snake Bird. After being in the water they will perch in a tree with their wings expanded for long periods to dry out.
