I didn't get a shot of the face, but the rest sure looks like it fits...

OK - I've gotten sorta serious about this, now...I have probably seen many of these birds at one point in my lifetime before this, but I have definitely never taken the time to record them...so...here goes!

This is a male American Goldfinch, in transition from its winter to summer (breeding) plumage.

We did not inherit Mother Earth from our Ancestors.....

We have borrowed Her from our Descendants.

I guess that means that summer's just around the corner (even thought it hit 38 degrees in Orlando last night)!!!

You're welcome, mdeniseo. I have a ton of American Goldfinches at my feeders now, and they are just starting to "gold up" for summer, too.

That's downright chilly for Orlando!! It's 39 here in Sacramento, about normal for this time of year.
