Mr. and Mrs. Goldfinch

I had some lovely goldfinches visit my feeder today.  I was so surprised to see them!  I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye, and when I turned my head I saw the prettiest yellow bird!  The male was sitting on top of the hook while the female chowed down on the black sunflower seeds.  She stayed the whole time, while he flitted off at one point but then came back.  I never saw him eating.

I hope they come back.

Nice photos, I have a charm of american goldfinches in my yard, and I feel so honored. They are really a beautiful bird. I am in California near the coast.
