Mr. and Mrs. Goldfinch

I had some lovely goldfinches visit my feeder today.  I was so surprised to see them!  I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye, and when I turned my head I saw the prettiest yellow bird!  The male was sitting on top of the hook while the female chowed down on the black sunflower seeds.  She stayed the whole time, while he flitted off at one point but then came back.  I never saw him eating.

Better Pic of our Grosbeak

Jim got an even better picture of our resident grosbeak. We see him everyday, several times a day. I have seen his lady friend a few times too. We see him so often that we decided to name him. I picked "Reuben."

Today I saw a little chickadee at my front feeder.

I also saw a tufted titmouse, but he was too quick for me to get his picture.

Rose-Breasted Grosbeak

Today I spotted a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak at the feeder outside my office window.  He was so pretty!  He is mostly black on his back, mostly white on his belly, and has the most beautiful red chest. He enjoyed the feeder for several minutes, so I got to snap a few pictures of him.

Then after dinner we heard a bizarre squeaking sound. Jim looked out the window and saw that it was our grosbeak. He was visiting the feeders we have in the back. I am assuming it is the same one. Could be a different one, I guess.

Then I saw him this morning at the front feeder again. I am trying to get a better pic of him. Jim is impressed because he says he's never seen one in person.
