photos and sightings of northern california birds

A few new sightings

I have not gotten out in a few days but just driving to school or work or in my own back yard I have seen some cool birds. The Red Tail Hawk photo I just posted was on my way to school on Monday and was not only a great photo op but a really impressive bird. Great color and very healthy looking. I also got to spend some time with our nesting Red Shouldered hawks ( I call them Fred and Ginger) and i watched them for about 20 minutes today. This morning as i got the kids packed for school there was a Sharp Shinned Hawk perched in a neighbors tree until the crows chased it away. Lots of Gulls, Crows, and House Sparrows at the kids school and plenty of Scub Jays, Yellow Billed Magpies, and Robins around the house. Tomorrow is my 34th B-Day and either Saturday or Sunday I am heading to Sac Valley Refuge or Maybe to Mt. Shasta to get a little sunshine, climb a mountain, and see some critters. Should have a good post next week. This Web Site Rocks!!!!!
