Ruby Throated Hummingbird and American Gold Finch
Exciting news to post. We have some tall 10 ft sunflowers growing next to our house. Just two days ago, I was looking out the window and saw a beautiful male American Gold Finch eating at one of the flowers. He didn't notice me looking out the window watching him. The wind was blowing the sunflowers and he held on almost upside down to eat. Then all of a sudden, a beautiful, female ruby-throated hummingbird came to the same sunflower stalk and ate right next to the gold finch. They both stayed there for about 10 minutes. I wish I had my camera but my husband had left it at work. What a beautiful sight. I think they might be best friends!
