    Find the bird

Normally I wouldn't post one of my own of these, but I just got what I thought was a good but solvable picture for this type of quiz....

Remember, as is standard for these quizzes on here, name the bird only and not the location.

HINT:  The bird in question is horizontally in the center of the photo and vertically in the upper half.

    Re: Find the bird

I believe I see a bird with a thick eye-line, so I'm going to guess loggerhead shrike.

    Re: Find the bird

Good guesses, but it is not an indigo bunting or a loggerhead shrike.

    Re: Find the bird

Nope, Amy has been the closest so far with the thick eye-line...

    Re: Find the bird

Well, I wasn't going to guess again, but I'm encouraged to know that at least I'm looking at the right part of the picture, so I'll try one more time: northern shrike. Can they be in Indiana this time of year?

    Re: Find the bird

Well, maybe I should have stated the location since it's not in Indiana (rather, this picture was taken in Michigan), but I didn't know if people would need location to ID it...

    Anyway, nope, not a shrike.

I'll post a solution this evening for those few of you playing the game.

    Re: Find the bird

I'm trying to play, but I can't find a bird anywhere in your forest!!  I keep trying, but no luck so far.  Good Quiz!

Maybe you should start the solution by telling us about where in the photo the bird is and then let us think some more. ??

Would you prefer I say what general area the bird is in and have you guess the bird, or tell you what bird you should be looking for and then you can see if you can find it?

    Re: Find the bird

If it's up to me - I'd say start with the general area and see if we can find the bird.  Maybe some others will give it a try also.

    Re: Find the bird

That does sound like a better idea, now that I think about it.

    Okay, here goes:

HINT:  The bird in question is horizontally in the center of the photo and vertically in the upper half.

Okay, I really must be blind - or maybe it's my monitor.   I've looked at it every way I can and I still can't see it!   I will look again in the morning with "fresh" eyes.

    Good Night!
