    Profile? What Profile?

Dumb Newbie Question here - how do I access my Profile page?

Usually there is a link from the home or forums page, but I'm just not seeing it. I'm not a message board newbie either, just for this one! =P

    Re: Profile? What Profile? HELP

You are NOT hi maint. I am having the same problem of where is a Profile page, and then how do I add to is and what will show up online.

There is NO info on that. Nothing is named Profile. Ususally if a person is talking about a zebra they do not say hay look at that big animal. It helps to use the name to ID it. Maybe the page to enter a profile should be named Profile and offer a little info on it.

The FAQs section mentions building and changing a profile but does not say where the heck it is.

I too am not a newbie to online stuff as I worked the last 38 years in hi teck CUA and websites.

I really like whatbird.com and think it is very useful. It was also intelligently structured. But someone got a little too cute or obscure on the profile.

I still remain not knowing what goes on that "name" page and what part of it will be visible to all or just myself. I would appreciate some helpful info on this.

Click on your user name Top right   Signed in as XXXXXXX    where XXXXX is your user name that will bring up your profile page to change stuff click on the various tabs that are there if you want to type in something about yourself use the signature/Bio tab if you other details  then use the About Tab go through the tabs they are pretty much self explanatory Hope that helps

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one!!  I've just spent the past hour searching around trying to find this information.  And, I'm NOT new to internet forums.  I finally got to the profile page but it wouldn't let me type in anything.   Finally, I found this info.

Welcome others who are frustrated. I remember posting a month ago about photos. Nobody here ever did answer my question. FYI The first tab visible after you click on your username has tabs that include BIO and SIGNATURE. Just remember to book mark the FORUMS page because that's where it's easiest to sign-in and go back to what's familiar. Scroll up from this post to the top of the page and you'll see "Signed in as....." that's what you click on to get to your BIO. When you return (accessing by using your own shortcut or favorites menu) then you'll see Sign in. Same goes for signing out click your name at the top of any page you are on. If you get lost just click on "Forums" along the top page menu to go back to what's familiar.

Bio section will show up when another user on Whatbird wants to know more about you.

Signature section will appear under each post you make; hence cutesy quotes, or Life List numbers, etc.

You should see other tabs labeled AVATAR, SITE, EMAIL, etc.

Avatar is your photo or image to use above your name as it appears on the left side of the forums when you post. You can add one you have by browsing your computer. (I save the avatars I create to my PC desktop so I can find them easier) It has to be a small graphic file (I think under 150 KB). Use your own photo imaging program to create your avatar then resize down before you upload it. Then after you upload it click "Update" to the right - wait a few minutes then scroll down and click "Save."

Site Options are for if you want email sent or to be notified. I think you just click on the yes or no dots

On the right hand side of your profile screen you'll see Blog and Gallery which are too complicated for me to explain.

LOL  It took me awhile, but not that long.  Life would be awful boring if every website we visit was easy to figure out.  Hmm
