Perhaps another question is... What is in the feeder???   I know that bears are omnivorous, but that seems an extreme effort for just bird feed.... although I worked for years for not much more.

Maybe it needed a little something in it's diet - great series - thanks for posting!

I think bears are naturally curious---if they see other creatures eating something (or just plain interested in something), they may go to quite an effort to get to that thing.

8 days camping in Western Colorado and 5 new birds: Juniper Titmouse, Mountain Bluebird, Black-billed Magpie, Clark's Nutcracker, Gray Jay. Beautiful!!!

There was no identification with the pictures.  Just one of those forward, forward, etc.  Amazing series that reminded me of SandyLee's raccoon photo.

Har Har, Matt!  I just caught up with this thread!  Although, no bears YET....they are all over the place here this year....in the cities.....suburbs....so....be prepared....BUT, I really do not want a bear on the feeders!  

(We are in the "outback" so...... you never know!)   Cool post, thanks for remembering me and my "critter"!
