Trying to figure out how to reply with previous post included

If this works, then no response is necessary. If it doesn't then I need help figuring out how people include the post to which they are replying in the reply. I think it must be the use of the Quote button instead of the Reply button.

You'll notice that when you hit 'quote', you'll get everything in that post, with code added at the beginning and end. If you want to just quote a particular segment of the post, rather than the whole post, you can just delete (or backspace) through the words you wish to get rid of---the important part to keep is the code at the beginning and end of the quote.

you know, i figured that out and used it on another post, but thanks for pointing it out in your reply so that others could use the trick.

i saw another trick, and would like to try it here.  somebody included quotes from two posts.  i'm guessing that one way to do that is to open up two quote windows, copy the quote from one and paste it into the other.  of course one could just code the second quote.  as a former coder, i think i'll try the latter using ficticioususer and my favorite quote.

    ficticioususer:
All problems are caused by solutions.

    hope that works.
