The current IBird Pro version does not have a House Finch - Yellow Variant photo and the photo in the Birders Homestead gallery gives a clear view of what to look for. Sibley describes this variant as being due to diet. They spent the spring at our feeders here on the ranch - Birders Homestead - near Yosemite National Park.
