For stealing all the fish out of Southern California ponds and lakes!!! It's the infamous "White Pelican" gang!! The Snowy Egrets have banded together and are offering a reward of 100 fish for the capture of this band of thieves! But be careful - they are "winged" and extremely dangerous - their most effective weapon is the "hot one" drop when they fly overhead!
The "White Pelican" gang is also wanted in Florida! Last seen in March. Looks like their numbers have increased since then, too.
LOL! Do you only get white pelicans in fall/winter over in your area, too? I started getting interested in birds at beg. of the year but REALLY didn't get into it until around March. Since the start, I only saw 2 white pelicans - one in June at one location (and got a crappy picture of it, too) and other in flight at the location I took this recent pic. Over the past couple weeks, they have suddenly appeared at one wildlife sanctuary I go to, about 30 of them. They are so fun to watch, whether in the water or in the sky!
