    where to go?

I am currently in north Georgia (Hiawassee)...can anybody suggest where to go for nature photo ops?

I don't mind driving a bit to get there.  Planting daffodil bulbs this morning and a very little black bear cub

wandered into the yard...the camera was in the house...I hate me.

    Re: where to go?

Well, I'm not from Georgia, but a quick Google search brought up the Chattahoochee National Forest right in your backyard.  That sounds like a great place to start, especially during Fall migration (right now)!  Smile

Another bit of Googling brought up Kennesaw Mountain, which is near Atlanta.

Also you're right on the North Carolina border near the Appalacians, which is bristling with great sites.  There's a series of books call the North Carolina Birding Trail (www.ncbirdingtrail.org).  I bought the "Mountains" edition for a recent trip, and I highly reccomend it.

    Re: where to go?

Thanks for the reply lyceel...I really appreciate all your effort.  It rained everyday while we were up there so we came home early.  Whatever pictures I took were

from the deck of the house...Not Much!.  However, my husband called on me to help with the planting of the daffodills so I PUT THE CAMERA INSIDE THE HOUSE

AND WENT OUT TO HELP...within 5 minutes I said "look honey, a little black dog wondered in the yard. Oh wait it's a little BLACK BEAR CUB! @#&*%"

Thanks again...I will use your info when we go back in April (and my own computer)

    Lynne
