American Goldfinch in the Pacific Northwest?

Does anyone know if American goldfinches ever live in the Pacific Northwest?  I've never seen one yet.

I'm near Seattle and my thistle feeder is FULL of them, everyday.  There was a short period where they abandoned ship to nest and raise babies but they're back in full force - mostly females (or juvenile males and females).  When you see one of the boys out there, it's like a canary got loose....they're so bright and beautiful.
