    Purple Finch: Feeder fight

At least I think its a Purple Finch, bit too much red for a House Finch. Taken in March of '09, sorry for the quality, it was through the window screen.

"Inviting nature home" is my business slogan and something I believe in.

The guy on the feeder is definitely a male House Finch (you can see some brown streaking). The one in flight, if it is a male, lacks the brown streaking and could in fact be a Purple Finch. However, if it is a female (hard to tell from these pics), it too is a House Finch. Nice action shots though!

    Total birds seen: 205
    Latest lifers:
Brown Creeper, Field Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow
    Favorite lifers:
Black-billed Cuckoo, Reddish Egret, Wood Stork

I always get those two mixed up, thanks. The one flying in is a House Sparrow male and the House Finch male is quite annoyed by this intrusion, he may be showing off for his female companion sitting opposite of him (off frame).
