Ruby Crowed Kinglet or Orange Crowned Warbler?

This one flew away just as I was aiming my camera.  I honestly thought it was a RC Kinglet, but then someone else I met said they should be gone from Massachusetts by now.  He said I probably saw an OC Warbler.  I've never seen an OC Warbler, but they do look similar.  It was a good look but too fast to remember specific details.  This was in a tree on the edge of farmland; a great sparrow environment.

What do people think?  Anyone see Kingbirds in the Northeast this late?

What about a golden-crowned kinglet?  Although they are less likely in the habitat you described.  Certainly the ruby's are gone from here now, but you're further south.

Excleent idea but it wasn't a GC Kinglet - that I am certain of.

My gut tells me it was the RC and it is just a bit late leaving.

That is entirely possible, especially on the east coast.  We occasionally have RC Kinglets reported in the winter here at the southern end of Lake Michigan.  Not many, but it happens.
