I'll cast my vote for Blue-headed Vireo, also.

This quiz must be for those of you who are not yet over 60 years old. Must update my glasses. Yow!

Oh boy do I feel foolish...I wasn't even close in proximity or the  ID of the bird! I was looking at the object way over to the right edge of the pic at about the middle. It looked to me that there was a bird sitting on a branch.

You said this wasn't shot in Florida? Where were you?  I'm just curious.

Blue Ridge Parkway, NC, at Devil's Courthouse.  I was looking for Peregrines, but didn't see any (probably too late in the season).  I did find this guy, though Smile

Oh, I regret not exploring this area when we had the chance a bunch of years ago...we did pass by Lake Lure, what a beautiful area. Someday I will get there!

    Thanks for the info!

I think it's a vireo, but I'm not sure which.  I'm going to guess Hutton's because of the eye-ring and wing bars.  I hope I didn't miss a location tip that rules it out.

I'd say a type of hummingbird.  It is a small little thing.  :D

    Not quite Central Iowa

If you look back at Lyceel's post from 07-19-2009, 11:56 AM - the answer was given.
