    Boreal Birds on the Move

There has been an irruption of Boreal birds  this year. I've  noticed  the large population of Red-Breasted Nuthatches. Has anyone seen any of the other  these birds, such as Redpolls, Pine Grosbeaks, Bohemian Waxwings, Pine Siskins, etc.?

New Additions to Life List: semipalmated plover, prairie warbler, belted kingfisher, ruddy turnstone

Re: Boreal Birds on the Move

This year I had Pine Siskins coming to my thisle feeder, which was the first time I've seen them in my yard. They came for a few days in October and then again in early November, but haven't seen them since. This year I also have a Red-breasted Nuthatch coming to my suet, haven't seen her since 2005. Today was actually the first day that I have seen her!

On the home page of eBird there is a great article on this topic explaining the irruption pattern of each species.
