    Re: Levels

I agree  you should not be dinged for using the binoculars, so we will make it so points are not removed for using them. Glad you like the focus knob. It will make using the bincolars a little harder then now, as they will start out of focus (at least on level 2 and 3) but I think that is worth it.

    Re: Contest

Mitch, how about we name him Inspector U. R. Hoo (You are who?) since he is there to help users figure out what bird is making what chirp, his first question as a detective to the bird of course would be "You are who?" or "Who are you?" :)

VERY clever! Inspector U. R. Hoo. I love it. Or it could be Inspector Hoo. R. U.

    Re: Contest

Thanks.  I prefer the first one, Inspector U. R. Hoo.  That way, you have his first and middle initials with his last name.  If you want, you could make up names for the U and R like Ulysses Ranger or better yet don't and have fun leaving users to wonder what names they might stand for.

The second doesn't really make sense, with his first name being Hoo and last name U.

You could always make it U. R. Who instead of U. R. Hoo, too.  I'm just not thrilled with Hoo, to be honest. Maybe make it Hooo, or even better Inspector U. R. Whooo.

    Just my two cents.

    Re: Contest

Mitch, I don't mean to be pushy, but I was wondering since it has been more than two weeks from when the contest started have you picked a name for the owl mascot?

    Re: Contest

No problem, I was getting ready to announce the three winners. Stay tuned, probably tonight, after our team goes over them.

    And the winner is

    Attachment: Interface3.jpg

We have selected BlueManticore as the winner for the name

    Inspector Hoot

And James Swan (who submitted his choice by email and for us seemed to be a great name for the game itself, not the mascot) for

Avian Sleuth: Call of the Wild

I was hoping for more names and winners and while there were some really clever names, this is the only one we felt worked the best with the site.

So Blue, please email me your real name and address and pick a book from the list at the bottom of this page:

Thanks to everyone for participating in the contest.

BTW as a secret bonus for anyone reading this thread I have attached a sneak preview of the next version of the song identifcation game.
