Oh...Valley. I know zip about cancer or chemo other than what you hear on TV. But I am glad he has someone who loves and supports him while he goes through this. I am so glad he's not ill from it yet. I hope he doesn't get too ill. I know that different people have different kinds of reactions. I don't know what to say...I never do. But we're here....

Thanks, purple.  He did OK until yesterday afternoon and the proverbial "truck" hit him.  He's had a really bad headache since then that his pain meds haven't put a dent in.  Now his doctor wants to do a brain MRI.

Just saw your thread abut your husband's diagnosis and treatment.  I will also keep you guys in my prayers.  If you guys ever find it necessary to travel for second opinions, experimental programs, or to a specialist hospital like MD Anderson please let me know.  I am a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight/Grace Flight which flies patients to treatment centers all over the country free of charge. 

We try to take long distance travel out of the problem category for people who need to get treatment in another location.  Our pilots use their own planes and their own funds to pay for the trips.  My email is tbryant4@austin.rr.com.  May God grant you the wisdom, peace, and perseverance to face this tough time.

This has been an incredible thread. There is a lot of sadness and pain, but a lot of love and hope too. The generosity of T.L. helps me to believe that maybe the world isn't as bad as I have a tendancy to believe it is. And when I see what Valleygirl and her husband are going through I feel ashamed that I complain about my life. We take so much for granted and when things like this happen to good people, it makes you realize how lucky you are. Valleygirl, they say prayers can move a mountain, so I will keep praying along with everyone else.  Keep the faith and know we're here for you.

It has been so difficult to stay positive through this but today my aunt was telling me to focus on the positive and think of things to be thankful for.  One of the greatest positives are the many, many people who have been so supportive.  People we don't even know have sent us cards and called and told us they are thinking about us and praying for us.  Yes Cosmicblu, there are still good people in the world and there are a lot of them on this forum.  You all just don't know how much this has meant to me.  Virtual strangers but also virtual friends.

I lost my mother to pancreatic cancer. She was only 72. It brought our family together in a way that was incredible and she is always in my dreams. I send all my positive thoughts and prayers to you and your husband.

Hi Nancy and Jen.  Thanks for asking.  My husband just started his second cycle of chemo. The doctor increased the dosage this time so it pretty well "knocked him for a loop" this time but hopefully it will kill more cancer cells.  He must complete three cycles(which should take us to the end of Sept.) before they re-scan him to see if the chemo is working or not.  He feels very weak and nauseated most of the time but he will gradually get his strength back just in time for another round of chemo. He is still going into work when he feels like it.  They have been really great by letting him just sit in the office when he feels badly so that helps.

I'm doing much better.  It's been a real roller-coaster ride emotionally but things are leveling out.  I have lots of family and friends (you guys, too!) to keep me going.
