    And I thought Raptors were "TOO COOL" to have a bad Crest....er....bad hair day!

    I took this photo of an Andean Condor at the zoo. Note his psuedo-raspberry beret and BIG ear holes - you know what those things do? Yuck Stick out tongue

    When a pileated woodpecker is flying, the wind at her back will make her soar.

    Figaro would be sung by a male, this is a female Gila Woodpecker.  It was feeding on a combination of super chunky peanut butter and cornmeal.  Every bird in town loves that combination.  I really had to engineer that feeder to keep all but the cactus wrens and Gilas away.
