Does anyone (who knows anything about digital cameras) know what causes this:

 

I have never had this happen before!  I just have a  HP Photosmart Mz67.  I've had it about 6 months, so I am a bit concerned.

top image looks like an image processor failure to me.

Bottom looks like  lens blur. 

Does your camera have image stabilization?  Is it doing this on every image?

Hope you got an extended warranty.  You will probably need to return it. 

another possibility---bad memory card... did you format it to that camera? you should.  if you have another compatable card, try that one..does it do the same thing? using fresh/totally recharged batteries?  there also may be a reset button in the camera itself...check the manual... if you bought it like at sam's club, they warrantee it forever, take it back... as far as the bottom picture is, i can't tell what it is a picture of,  oh yeah.. take your test shots on a tripod if possible.. to elimnate shake...good luck
