I found one more that I have not confirmed.  I think this is a Dunlin.

You have the double-crested cormorant and (I think) the Western sandpipers correct.  The last bird, however, is a dowitcher, although whether it is a short-billed or long-billed dowitcher, I'm not sure.  My very tentative guess would be short-billed.  A dunlin would have a very noticeably shorter bill than this bird.

I agree, this strikes me as a Short-billed Dowitcher rather than Long-billed, but I could be wrong, I don't trust myself with these guys with only pictures (it's much easier to call when you actually see them in person).

Thanks! -- this is why I seek confirmations and find this site so helpful.  I think I have other pictures of this bird and I will look for them tonight or this weekend.

It looks like a Sora to me, but these are all new birds for me.  Here's another photo of what I now suspect are indeed Short-Billed Dowitchers.  Not as close up, but there are many more of them, for what that's worth.

The extra picture helps a lot. They are Short-billed, note how when feeding they have a really flat back (as compared to the huge hump on a Long-billed). I have been told it isn't necessarily diagnostic, but it is very indicative.

The next few are technically not from the San Francisco Bay, but they are from the Bay Area.  These are from Pillar Point, which is on the Pacific Ocean near Half Moon Bay.  As always, please let me know if I make any identification errors.  But I will start with an easy one:  Brown Pelican.

This photo is not that good because they were out there a bit, but Surf Scoter, I believe.

Definites on the Black Oystercatcher and Surf Scoter (scoters are so cool!) and I'm 99% on the Black Turnstone, but I'm less familiar with them.

Thanks!  I'm not sure which Turnstone it is, but I think it is a Black.  One of my guides says it is frequently found with Surfbirds, and this guy was on the same rocks.  I think it is a Surfbird.

Re: San Francisco Bay bird confirmations and questions

You are correct with both the Black Turnstone and Surfbird.
