Chased the little birdies around ALL day and they just would not co-operate, BUT, this little guy was very nice to sit still for me.

(by the way, even though there are , apparently, lots of these around, this is the first time I have seen a live one. Yes, the very first!!!!)

Although I had a good birding trip last week I would never pass up the opportunity of taking a nature shot that presents itself, great porcupine.  Here is a cousin that crossed my path.  I hope that I named this Abert's squirrel correctly.

I have one most folks don't have. Its a Nutria. The Gulf Coast people may have them but they are usually very shy.

Birdbrain - Nice get of Libellula lydia or Common Whitetail female Dragonfly - Skimmer family.  She's very similar to male except she's fat, brown and has row of yellow dashes on side of body.

Had a racoon in the yard this morning.  He was actually chasing his tail just like a kitten.  He finally caught it.

I love all these photos - you guys are great photographers!

There was a great blue tail skink in my back yard the other day - I ran to get the camera and of course he ran to the other side of the tree. But if you have ever stayed awake nights wondering about the intricacies of a blue tailed skink's jawline, here ya go.

Also, I'm at war with an albino squirrel in the park where my son plays t-ball. The thing will come up and shake its tail at me if I don't have the camera, but I can sit out there armed (camera) for hours, and it will never show up.  Here's the closest Iv'e gotten so far.
