Ok.  I absolutely L-O-V-E whatbird.com!  Please take this only as constructive criticism to make it even better!  :)  The email update system does not work at all.  I don't believe I have EVER gotten a single email from whatbird, even though I am very active, & click on the appropriate buttons to be informed of new posts in certain topics.  I have heard others mention the same thing.   This update would make the difference between whatbird  being awesome to TOTALLY awesome!  :)  Hope you understand what I'm pointing out!   Thank you!

It would be nice to get emails.

When you say you would like to receive emails from whatbird are you referring to the email system on the forum? Do you mean when you subscribe to a thread you are not getting emails sent to you? If so I will look into it because I thought it had been working just fine. You do know how to subscribe to a post right?

I have subscribed to numerous threads, & it doesn't work.  I have also ready other people mention it does not work as well.  Maybe we aren't doing it correctly.  'Enable Email Notifications of forum/thread subscriptions and replies to my posts' is checked yes, as well as the other options.  So, technically, I think it should work, but it doesn't.  I also toggle the button on various posts to enable email subscription.  it shows it's enabled, but still nothing.

Yes, I'v turned on everything in the options to get emails, and have subscribed to several threads, but never have gotten an email.

 

I did a thread a month back or so, and a lot of people said they have never gotten an email either. (the only one I ever got was when I signed up, and it sent me confirmation, that one worked)

This was mentioned before; we have all chalked it up to being the norm!  Maybe we can get it resolved because this would definitely increase activity on this site!  :)

OK.  Ask & you shall receive!  I had to bring up the lack of follow-up email!

 

Instead of NO emails, now I am getting hundreds of emails now.  Not the posts I've selected to receive emails, but ALL of the posts!  For 4 days now!!

 

Over a thousand in 4 days!!!

Wow, that would be funny, but I guess it's not. A thousand!

 Uh, mine got fixed a few days ago, but I am getting them the correct way, just from threads I'v posted in or subscribed to. I think I'v gotten 10 or 11 emails in 3 days time. Which is nice.

 

 

I'm getting email now, too, but it's coming to my work email, which is not good, and I've been unable to disable it or even change it to my personal email address.  When I try to save the changes I get an error message.  I work for a State agency and could get in trouble if it's not disabled soon.

Mitch has responded but his instructions didn't work.

is there a way to subscrib to a folder or can you only do this to threads within folders.  also, I posted a new thread and got the message that it had to go through the admin  guess it will take a day or more for it to show?
